Christ Is Risen Standard English Translation

On March 21, 2012, His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, on behalf of all the members of our Holy Eparchial Synod, approved and distributed copies of the standard text and music for the English version of Christos Anesti to all the parishes of our Archdiocese.

Encyclical from His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios

The National Forum is pleased we have reached this milestone of being able to sing this significant and beautiful hymn of our faith in English as one, wherever we travel and whenever we gather from different parishes and Metropolises, just as we have been able to do with the Greek version.

We encourage church musicians to work with their priests to start singing this version of the English as soon as possible. Various formats for presenting the hymn, in both Greek and English, are posted below. To provide your parish with some ideas for introducing the hymn, a list of practical "tips" for implementing the transition to the approved version has also been prepared.

PLEASE NOTE:  The music and formats are the same as they were in 2013 - there are no changes.
